The Amsterdam based, award winning ‘Guy Salamon Group’ is one of the most notable emerging bands in the European jazz scene nowadays.
With a strong emphasis on storytelling and originality, their music is not shy of taking risks, crossing genres, wildly mixing styles, merging influences from jazz, contemporary, world and film music.
The Guy Salamon Group has won the 1st prize of the Keep an Eye The Records competition 2018, providing them with a national tour and support for recording an album.
With the success of their 2019 debut album, ‘Unfollow The Leader’, the band was invited to perform at major jazz festivals all over Europe, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, 12 points festival and JazzAhead! 2021 Bremen, among many others.
In recent years, the Guy Salamon Group has been taking an active part in the new movement of Dutch jazz and European jazz, exploring the creative corners of the national eclectic scene. They have been collaborating with cultural establishments such as the BIMHUIS, Dutch InJazz and JazzAhead!, and have been featured in the jazz documentary ‘Red Light Solo’, a film about the new jazz scene in Amsterdam.
After touring nationally and internationally , the band went back into the studio to record their second album. They are currently working on the final process and will be festively releasing it in May 2022, followed by album presentation concerts around Europe during 2022-23.
